Our founder, Rebecca, started NLC in 1998. Through the years, we have grown into a WBENC-certified, full-service agency that can manage just about anything you can throw at us. Our specialty is building brands that last. Brands that stand out. Brands that have values and whose messaging is clear. Branding is our highest priority. A great brand practically markets itself.

Brand development and organic growth. Our team is amazingly talented, and we will put our work beside the best in the industry with pride. We are fast, client-centric, and thorough. If we don’t do it, or do it well, we will find someone who can.

We are serious about our business. We know our stuff. However, we are relaxed, joyful, playful and truly enjoy our clients. We never consider ourselves a hired vendor, we consider ourselves your partner and friend who is here to support you and help you succeed. If you want someone who is stiff and uber-serious, we are not your tribe.

There have been a few over time who did not know what they wanted. After many, many attempts to please, we chose to refund their money and decline to work with them any longer. There have been one or two times when a client was not polite, was condescending, and treated us as servants and not as a collaborative partner. We do not accept being treated poorly or in any type of anger or arrogance; we don’t treat others that way, and will not let someone insult or belittle us. We have been doing this for too long.

No. Any departure has been due to an inability to collaborate in some way (personalities, needs, timelines), and the departure was mutual, or perhaps there was a change in direction and the client no longer needed our services, or a client wanted to strictly do Google promotions, chose to bring their marketing in-house or retired/shut down/got another job. Many of our connections are marketing directors who may move to other companies as part of their career growth. Sometimes they are required to work with the new company’s vendor. The replacement manager may have their own connections. It is the nature of the business.

We have several clients who have been with us for 10+ years. Others are “one and done.” Some are so well set up (since we provide all art and IP ownership) that they choose to do their own marketing. However, we pride ourselves on having great relationships with clients, whether they do one project or 500, and support them whichever direction is chosen.

It will always be entertained, but we have a limited bartering budget each year and are very discerning. We have been burned one too many times attempting to be nice and help out a smaller entity that then did not hold up their end of the bargain. Sad.

$1,500+ is the preferred minimum spend to cover the cost of research, meetings, set up, project management preparation, etc. However, once a client is established and in our system, any amount is fine. All projects are prepaid to allow us to pay our people promptly and lower our risk of loss. We always try to make ourselves affordable.
